Gibson ES-345TD

Recommended Posts

Dear Gibson family players;

Please, I need help identifying this guitar (exact year of production, woods used in its construction & possible value)

It's a Gibson ES 345TD, stereo output, bigsby & varitone, over the truss rod its written Custom, Made in Kalamazoo; Michigan, all parts are original.

Finally, inside the guitar there's an orange sticker.

I attached some pictures.

Thanks in advance;

Toni.

Pretty sure this dates to the latter part of 1969.

The body is made of laminated maple, with a maple block running down the center of the body. Neck is mahogany. Fretboard is rosewood.

As far as value, I would go to ebay and look at sale prices from completed auctions for comparable instruments.

Hello, I just joined the forum today. My brother, the late Herb Staehr, owned a Gibson ES 345 TD, which was formerly owned by Alvin Lee and played by Alvin Lee at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. The guitar was sold at auction at Skinner Auctions in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 4, 2008. Perhaps if you contact the auction house, they can help you value yours.
