Hidalgo
New member here. I haven't played in over 20 years. I owned a red 335 and a white 1275 in the past, but was stupid and sold them both when I retired from music. I'm currently 55 years old, and the fingers don't move like they used to. I was wondering if you guys might save me a little time by maybe advising me which Gibson has the smallest neck of the current production? I'd like to stay with a Les Paul, an SG, or maybe a 335 if possible. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Robin Nahum
Do you mean shortest scale length or the least width or thickness of the neck, or a combination?
Hidalgo
Least thickness I suppose. I have VERY short fingers and need all the help I can get....especially after laying off this long. I handled a SG yesterday and the neck seemed smaller than I remember. Have they changed?
KSG_Standard
My guess is that you'll want one of the "slim" 60's necks, they are on most SGs, some LPs and some 33Xs. You'll have to go out and fondle as many as possible in your local music stores. Good luck. by the way, my fingers are just slightly longer than vienna sausages and my favorite neck profile is a '59 rounded.
Big Arm
My ES-345 has the slim profile '60's neck and I really like it. However, I also just got an Epiphone Dot which has a bigger neck and it is really not bad and I don't have long fingers by any stetch of the imagination. rocketman
The three guitars you mentioned all have very distinct sounds. You may also want to check out the 339 with the slim 30/60 neck if you like the 335 sound.

surfpup
The Firebird neck is quite slim. Surprised AXE hasn't chimed in here - he posted a comparison pic of two LPs, an Explorer, and a Firebird a while ago. Here's that thread
