Help ID Gibson Transformer?

Hi there,

I have a power transformer marked "TF-104P," which schematics tell me was originally in a GA-25 RVT. The secondary puts out 320-0-320, but does anyone have a rating for the heater secondary? I know it's 6.3V, but anyone have current info? Wondering if it'd be safe to run an EZ80/EZ81 off of it....

Many thanks!

TF-104-P is from a 1965-67 GA-35-RVT "Lancer" amplifier.

What circuit are you trying to build? The Lancer had a plethora of tubes in it (2-7591, 2-6EU7's, 2-12AU7's and a 12AX7) so you can pretty much figure out the current capabilities by adding the current draw from those 7 tubes together, and comparing it to the current draw of your design.

However- vintage Gibson transformers don't grow on trees- I would think hard before using it in a scratch build. Hammonds and Edcors are readily available.

That transformer could help bring back another Lancer or an Epiphone EA-16-RVT Regent. PM me if you think twice about using it.
