NHTom Posted September 24, 2013 Share Posted September 24, 2013 I tried out a couple when I was shopping. I was mostly looking for a rock/crunch tone so didn't look at clean headroom much. They sounded good for what I'm looking for and while I did choose a Laney over the VHT, I would look at them again. Seemed to be well laid out, well built and sounded good. MisterE Posted October 4, 2013 Share Posted October 4, 2013 I own a VHT Special 6 Ultra that I bought used. At first I wasn't too impressed with the gain structure but after a couple of tube swaps it really opened up. I can't recommend it as a practice amp because of the weight but as a hobby amp it kicks serious butt. It has an attenuator, a power scaler, 12 " speaker and effects loop, a very good bang for the buck amp. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
