Androbb
Hi there I have a question. Did they bild zwo different versions of the Gibson Les Paul? A few years ago i bought a Gibson Les Paul Menace. The best sounding guitar i ever owned. (You can see her in this quite funny video ) Because I loved that guitar that much i was looking for a second one. I found one on ebay and bought it. It came in the normal black Gibson hardshell. But when i took it out, it looked a little bit different. The marks behind the bridge are much shorter. And it was by far not that heavy than my other one. I plugged it in, and it sounded really ok. Not that good as my old one (the old one has more punch, more harmonics, and has a bit more sustain). But it sounds like a gibson to my ears. here is a video of my LP collection. You can slightly see the different marks behind the bridge.
yars
Why don't you run the serial numbers and see what year they were made? It's possible that the old one is "weight relieved" and the later one is "chambered." The chambered one is probably lighter. I bought a 2008 menace because it was light. Comfy. Probably chambered.
