20_Gauge
Note: I realize that this might be an unanswerable question but here ya go. I been in contact with a luthier who specializes in makin' pickguards & he assured(& shown me) me that he can create a Brown Tortoiseshell Nitrate J-200-style pickguard for my EJ Artist & has the material to make it look identical(minus the crème painted on border) to the 'guard on the Gibson J-200 Studio. The only holdup is that he has 2 EJ/J templates, 1 is a standard size & 1 is slightly longer and has a larger sound hole radius to accept an abalone rosette. Now to my knowledge the rosette/rings around my Artists soundhole are not abalone. So here's the question: is the standard pickguard in my EJ Artist the longer version w/ the enlarged soundhole? Can any of y'all tell by looking a this pic? The more I look at it, I'm thinkin' it's the one w/ the larger soundhole radius because it doesn't hug the edge of the soundhole. Any advice is welcome & appreciated. P.S. - I'm asking because I'm currently out of town & don't have my guitar w/ me & would like to go ahead & get this ordered.
