I like the blue Manhattan Midnight but what were they thinking by putting a mustardish colored pick guard and pick up rings... That's so wrong...

Hmmmm, is it "mustard colored" or (possibly) "gold" pickguard, surrounds, and toggle washer?
"Gold" would make more sense...at least to me. [tongue]

If you look at the site there are bigger pictures in the individual guitars pages.. looks mustard to me (or just REALLY bad lighting)

Hmmmm! Well, "I" tend to think of "mustard" as being brighter yellow, with a very slight tinge of green.
This seems more "gold" (warmer, redder) than "mustard yellow." But, you may be right?! [tongue] [confused] [biggrin]

Which is even a different color, depending
on company of origin. [tongue]

Well, "whatever." It's different, no doubt, from the "normal/classic" black and/or cream.

<_< Sigh...WHY is it, "I" have a problem, with Black guitars, with brown fingerboards! [scared]
Maybe a very dark brown, would be ok, but Ebony seems much more appropriate, for
a Ebony colored guitar! Even if the rosewood, was just "stained" ebony! [tongue]

I know, I know..."Picky, picky, picky!" [flapper] [biggrin]

never ceases to amaze me how Gibson can have all the best guitar designs ever, and still every new model they come out with is either just "meh" or a complete screw up...
2012 Gibson Midtown Custom w/BKP "The Mule"s + Jimmy Page wiring
2011 Gibson Flying V "Tremolo" w/Floyd Rose (current setup a Frankenstein or various spare parts)
2003 Gibson Flying V Faded w/stock neck pup and '81 Zebra Dirtyfingers in the bridge
2000 Gibson Les Paul Studio Gothic w/Burstbucker 2 & 3

Marshall JCM 2000 TSL60
Orange 2x12 Cab

I note the change of pickups for the 2014 LPJ. Not sure whether that's an improvement or not.

1990 Aria Pro II CT Series (with Shadow SH-EQ5 active humbucker)
2001 Hohner HEA-55CEQL
2006 Ibanez AEL10LEBK

Marshall 5275 75 watt Reverb Combo
Orange Micro Terror
Simms-Watts PA100 (with two 2x12 speaker cabs)
1991 Tech21 SansAmp
Akai Headrush E2
1989 Dod FX65 Stereo Chorus

Also as I said in that other thread... notice that a lot of these guitars have an "Anniversary" 12th fret.. Which anniversary is this?

I still tend to question "WHY" the need for ANY new "Les Paul's?"
I can see adding "options" (colors, neck styles, or pickups, etc.)
to the existing models. And, maybe in an "Anniversary" year...a
version, for that.

But, like with Fender...I don't see the need for the plethora of
various "Strat," and "Telecaster" models, either. :-k :-k [tongue] [unsure]

[biggrin]

eh, I'll pass. They have got to stop letting 12 year olds pick the colors.

Make Les Pauls, with decent pickups, and <shocking> normal speed knobs, and <ohmigosh> decent machines, and <holy crap who would do such a thing> a few more color choices than ThisBurst, ThatBurst, and then the fugliest thing you can come up with. Wouldn't that be different!

Here's an idea, how about a reissue of a 1959 Les Paul but at a more resonable price....say $2000 instead of 6k...or how about an SG special with full batwing and p-90's...you know, stick with what people have loved for so long...just a trial balloon here.
