uncle mud
It appears that you have a Studio Standard, custom shop edition. The Studio Standard is like a studio but with binding on the neck and body. Depending on condition and originality I would say the guitar is worth $1200-$1500. Guest Farnsbarns
What am I missing here? The custom shop started in 93 didn't it?
capmaster
There also have been Custom Shop guitars until 1983. I think they were made at the Kalamazoo plant being The Heritage site since then.
uncle mud
Gibson always had a custom shop. It was just contained within the regular factory. That's where they made the special orders. However, I'm under the impression that the studios that came out with the "custom shop edition" marking on the back of the headstock were built on the regular assembly line but with special wood, or limited color, and usually gold hardware, and a better finish. I have a '93 studio with a birdseye top and gold hardware, and it also has the "custom shop edition" marking. Great era for studios by the way. uncle mud
If the vibrato tailpiece is factory, and with the PAF stickers still present on the pick-up rings, the value could go as high as $1800.00 in my humble opinion.
