Hey Gang-

I'm the new guy here and am looking for a good non invasive pick up solution

For my late 20's Gibson L-1.

It's a parlor style archtop, and I was wondering if anyone has had good experience

with this.

Thanks for your time folks.

Trevor Marty

Ps you can see me playing it here. I'm on the left singing.

I use a Schertler Basik on my L00 Legend. You stick it on the top with the supplied inert putty. It's not a piezo, but some sort of mic element. Sounds quite natural and is easy to put on and remove. A lot of gain, before feedback. Not overly expensive and high quality. The trick is to roll the putty into a ring around the element, so it's not making direct contact with the top, otherwise it picks up too much body noise. Takes a while to find the sweet spot. I like it about half way between the treble side of the bridge and the body edge (lower bout). Totally non-invasive. Works for me anyway.

Swang on,
