Mickthemiller
How about a youtube video from you? You got a decent mic? Would love to hear it. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I keep checking for where the AJ45 is available - almost all UK dealers have them and I have just noticed they seem to be available at http://www.lamusic.ca/Epiphone-2015-Masterbilt-AJ-45ME-Acoustic-Electric-p/aj45mevsnh.htm in Canada

Mickthemiller
There's a lot of chatter here http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Acoustic/Electric/Masterbilt-2015-AJ-45ME.aspx It seems the debate goes on and someone else may soon have one.
Mickthemiller
There's one sighted here, but don't get too excited about hearing the sound of it - it's less useful than the first Youtube vid!! at a music shop in Bosnia
Cougar
There's a refurb AJ-45ME on ebay right now, newly listed. Under $500, free shipping, case extra.

I was considering buying one but opted for a Boss BR80 and the Harley Benton copy of the Casino/Dot instead...

I was considering buying one but opted for a Boss BR80 and the Harley Benton copy of the Casino/Dot instead... just played one in my local Dawsons - sounds great - lovely balanced tone - quiet enough to sing over with a sweet controlled power - great clarity when picked. The matte finish looks great - much better than in pictures/videos. Very comfortable to play as well
Cougar
...I was considering buying one but opted for a Boss BR80... That is too much! A pocket 8-track recorder? Pre-digital (pre-Copernican?), I used to have a Clarion XD550 4-track cassette recorder, as pictured below. It was as heavy as a boat anchor... cliffenstein
Has no one else got the Masterbilt AJ-45ME yet? Nope. I got a Recording King RAJ-122 instead. It's a beautiful, all solid 12 fret slope shoulder guitar...it's just like the Jackson Browne signature Gibson (but with golden age 3-on-a-plate open back 15:1 tuners). I'll have it in hand next week.
GuitarLight
Has no one else got the Masterbilt AJ-45ME yet? Three of the biggest online guitar retailers below have all been carrying the Masterbilt AJ45ME for weeks now. Not a single sale it appears, well at least there is not a single review in any of these retailers as of this writing, which does seem odd. I wonder if the unpopular matte finish has put the public off on this J-45. I know if it had a gloss finish, I would likely have one in my stall by now. http://www.samash.co...tar-eme4vssnh-p http://www.guitarcen...975-i4199741.gc http://www.musicians...electric-guitar
olie
If I'm Gibson/Epiphone and I'm looking at these thoughts being expressed here, I'm thinking-"keep 'em waiting" .It's marketing 101-if you can't get it , you want it even more.VERY good marketing -if that's what it is. Mickthemiller
These clips don't really do it justice IMO (I just listened again to the review and I've changed my mind - it does do it justice) I would like to see it compared to a J45 though Anyway - someone else has one - hooray!!!! agradeleous
Has no one else got the Masterbilt AJ-45ME yet? Nope not meI played some at GC did not like them :( they also only carry the DR500 masterbilt and I got one LOL playing now hehehehe Hey I F'd up they had some slope shoulder models but not the AJ masterbilt darn it man I'd like to try up front and personal. I did not like the vids as to being a good representation of its true tone . it sounds like it was just a built in vid mic though i could be wrong. I listened to all the vids plugged in was worse of all sounded like a cheap under saddle pick up with quaking sound going on . I know it's shadow but in his vid it does sound like the normal under saddle pickup like a nano flex. again I need one in my hands. :)

I am digging that darkish vintage burst, the more "brown" in the center, the better. No electronics though? None in my Masterbilts either. Depends on how you use them. I've got a few I can plug in....
cliffenstein
Yep! On my RAJ-122, I'm replacing the pickguard with an Advanced Jumbo/J-35 one.. I got the guitar with HSC for $650 delivered to my door. It's brand new (made in 2014) and isn't a b-stock or anything. The new pickguard was $38 plus shipping...it's the firestripe real deal...complete with beveled edges. As far as no electronics...I've got my fabulous IB64 Texan for that!

cliffenstein
Pics man and audio lots of them Wow fantastic over tones no boxy sound I can hear , clean very very nice . Absolutely! I will, but not until I get the proper Advanced Jumbo firestripe pickguard put on it. I had been considering the Recording King RAJ-122 for a long time, but when the AJ-45ME was announced I backed away in favor of it. Then when the audio clips came out, I was like, "uh-oh," and then we had the first user review right here on the board and I bailed. I then went back to the idea of getting the RAJ-122. Here's the video that actually sold me on it:
