Pre-ordered one of these back in March, was told at the time it would be delivered on or about the 20th of June.

Just heard back from the supplier today who said it's no slated for July/August.

What's your opinion on these?

I think it looks awesome. Perhaps a possible collectors item down the road. Hope you get it soon.. Let us know what you think of it when you do receive it.

Welcome to the family.

Cheers

Wayne

Oh my opinion… I am not crazy about all that paint ~ but, I am having a love affair with those Gibson mini humbuckers! The '60's slim taper neck is so comfortable for me that when I consider new/other guitars I keep it at top of mind.

It already has the 18:1 Grovers and what "sounds" like a better nut material, CTS pots and their heavy duty switch and jacks! Don't forget the case! It may be hard to do better - out of the box - on an Epiphone…

Good Luck,

Cheers for the replies!

I get your point with the paint [tongue]

It certainly helps that I'm an Oasis/Noel Gallagher fan.

When I got the email from Epiphone announcing they were putting out a few of these I ordered it immediately.

Just can't wait to get my hand son it.

It looks pretty close to the Sheraton Reissue '62, other than the paint. Case sounds the same. If that's the only difference, then Epiphone really made more than the 1962 that they say they are limiting the run to. Anybody know if the paint is the only thing?

My '62 Sheraton had 14:1 Asian made Grover's and a plastic nut. I am sure the electric guts are the same…

I put the 18:1 Grover's on my guitar and I am quite pleased with the difference it made, not only with the accuracy in tuning but I believe the mass difference made my guitar sound better!

Not sure if I can substantiate that claim but that's my story and I'm sticking to it! [cool]

I have on order and have been told the end of July. I am not crazy about the paint either but it a reissue of an orginal sherry w/mini hums and a frequensator so I couldnt resist!

I received a further update today saying I can expect it on the 15th of July.

The first thing I did on mine was change the nut, hate plastic nuts. I think that the last thing (already done a lot done to it) will be tuners. Which Grovers did you use?

I used the 102-18G's The 'G' stands for gold. They have nickel, chrome etc. Search around the internet, I think I only paid like $70.00ish for my gold machines all said and done…

Of course gold is much more expensive than the rest. I see the 102-18N for $53.00 and the 102-18C's for $49.00 on amazon.

the inlays go further down the neck to replicate Noel's. They did a pretty great job hitting the sweet spot between a British Invasion anniversary model and a Britpop anniversary model.

I also ordered in April, when delivery was the 20th June. I've spoken with the dealer on Monday and was told to expect a call in the next couple of weeks because they've started getting the l/h and coupe casinos in last week! I also saw last night someone in the US received theirs on Monday! I can't wait!

I can't wait, it seems like I've been waiting forever! It will be worth it though!

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes they did....I cancelled my order for UJ sherry got tired of waiting...bought a refurbed 62/50th sherry in vintage sunburst instead.

Seriously considering cancelling my order, where did you get your 62/50 from? One in natural might push me into it!
