Reilly81
At thhe suggestion of another member I have moved this to the repair forum. I have a 1955 ES 125 with the single soapbar, not a thinline but maybe someday. A couple of the adjustable poles seem frozen. I picked up the guitar about a year ago and had to have some top separation work done so I'm just getting to tweak it. What's the best way to loosen these without force. Some WD? Glad for any help because it's all original except for the tuners, the ends had done the shrink like a Lima bean dance so they were replaced with modern replicas but I saved the originals for province. Thanks
retrorod
If you don,t 'really' have to adjust them??? .....then let them be!....! You could open a "can of worms' otherwise!
Reilly81
Either the previous owner, or one before, brought some of them up in a way that doesn't give a balanced response, it's a little bass heavy, and with the action it would be nice to adjust those back. One of the frozen ones is for the B string and it throws off the E response.
ProGitarColacter
Theres a kind of screw driver that when you hammer on it, it turns a bit, i donno what its called, try that, it helped me a lot on vintage guitars.
retrorod
I think you are referring to an "impact driver". I would be very carefull with that on a pickup polepiece....
ProGitarColacter
Yes, you gotta place the pickup on a flat ground, and better dont use too much force.
