BK7, you could call that "The Doppelganger Blues" !

Seriously - that was great. amazing! Enjoyed it immensely.

I had a '64 LG1 that was good - but your '52 is outstanding.

Of course, being a great player does bring out the best in guitars.

Thanks for this. Now, I'm inspired - bordering on gasseousness. Maybe I should practice and not think another guitar will make me a better player.

Thanks for the replies!

I forgot to mention the lovely old woody smell of the guitar wafting up to me as I play....very intoxicating cigar box \ old wardrobe \ chest of drawers smell.

Cool that it sounds great too! I don't know how they get the Gibson sound in the ladder braced guitar, but....

I am not sure why this sounds so good now - bone saddle? ebony bridge? ramped bridge? set-up? new strings?

No, not the new strings, because I have been busy wearing them out! Having trouble putting the guitar down, it sounds so good and growly! I am a touch sick of Open D, but....I am NOT touching a thing yet - it can stay in Open D til the strings break.

So advice to LG1 owners - change that silly plastic bit and get it set up properly. (who knew? Ha Ha! [biggrin] )
