Identification of Les Paul Custom

Recommended Posts

I have a Les Paul Custom that my deceased husband purchased from a pawn shop in probably the early 90's. I had to look at the serial number with a magnifying glass to get the numbers (especially that 1st number). It appears to be 625634. It is in a Gibson case. Photos are below. Can anyone identify the year and an approximation of wht it might be worth? It does have some cracking on the paint (as you can see on the photos). Thanks for any info!

Hello and welcome to the Forums!

First of all, my condolences...

As far as the instrument is concerned, it was made between 1970-72. It is impossible to tell exactly, since the pre-75-era Les Pauls didn`t had the built year encoded into the serial number. The potentiometer codes could bring us closer to the year of manufacturing...

...all the features of the guitar are consistent with an early-70s Gibson Les Paul.

As far as the selling prices are concerned, please refer to eBay site of Your country. Asking prices seem to be between 2000 and 3000 USD. However, for how much they go, is another thing.

Best wishes... Bence
