ChinookKing Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I got this 2009 Les Paul Studio Silverburst. However, I'm very confused about a few things. The neck and fretboard look like painted black at the same time. You can look closely and see brush marks where they didn't quite cover a reddish fretboard. Also, the frets look to be placed in after the neck was painted? Look at the circles around the frets from the side view of the neck. Or maybe the paint/stain just didn't stick to the glue around the frets? I haven't seen a 2009 les paul studio with a painted neck anywhere online. Looking at the grains they look tight enough to be ebony. My guess is they painted a reddish piece of ebony black? What do you guys think.
