houndman55
Hey y'all Is there any chance that Gibson might relaunch their dobro and banjo line at any time in the future? Perhaps a custom shop limited run? Personally I would love to own a Gibson Hound Dog Roundneck or a earl scruggs banjo. And if you save your money and time do you think that the custom shop would be willing to make one? Lastly one thing I never really understand is everytime I search on ebay for a Gibson dobro just to see what the prices are etc. I get like zero or very few search results, do anyone know about this. Also which years were dobros and banjos made and when did it stop? After the nashville flood? Sorry for long post, Houndman55
L8_4thesh0w
I don't know about Gibson but Epiphone has 3 models of the Hound Dog Redneck Dobro. Funny thing... I just came here right after checking them out on the website. Sorry I can't be any more help than that.
L8_4thesh0w
Just came back from another thread on the forum and saw that Gibson owns Dobro brand, post was several years old though.
cody78
I too would like an Earl Scruggs and a USA Dobro Hound Dog! Sadly, after some research I can't see Gibson starting to produce these in the near future. However, I live in the UK and often used Dobro's come up for sale on sites like Guitar Village and Coda Music and I'm sure if you keep an eye out you will find one. Regarding the Banjos you will have to get a used one as well - there are a few specialist USA sites who have them if you are willing to pay big money!
