rghayati
Hello all! I've got a solo exhibition up in Scottsdale Public Art's boardroom space, on display until October 21st ( http://www.scottsdalepublicart.org/temporary-art/exhibitions/patrick-fisher ). The exhibit features a few of my guitar pieces---including this diptych, done in sharpie on a pair of Epiphone PR-150s. (If you dig those, you can find more on my website, linked via those images, or on Facebook)
wiggy
Has the feeling of scrimshaw. What made you chose the acoustic guitar as a medium rather than say a cello or a drum skin?
rghayati
I got into doing art on guitars by way of opportunities to draw on friends' instruments. They're a great canvas though---lightweight, major surface area, and I don't know another instrument that displays so well (or so easily, when all you need is one mounted wall hook). Red 333
Superb composition, draftsmanship, and rendering. You are an amazing artist. How do you get the blacks so dense, and not show the variation I'd expect to see when magic marker is applied to a shiny surface? Red
Kaiser Bill
Great artwork for sure. I wouldn't mind have a few of my "wall hangers" done up in that style. I'd be afraid to play them tho for fear of ruining the pictures. I used to live near 118th and Shea Blvd in NE Scottsdale many years ago.
