Casino+Bigsby = Heavy?

I've been gigging with a Lennon Inspired Casino for a while now. What has surprised me the most is just how FUN this guitar is to play. The light weight and perfect balance make it a pure joy, especially for a 46 year old dude at a 4-hour gig. It may not be the "best" guitar I've owned, but it's definitely the most fun.

I'm thinking about putting a Bigsby on it. I love the look, it's improved tone on other guitars I've played, and I'd use it a bit too. Can anyone share their experience with this? Does the Bigsby make the Casino feel a lot heavier, etc.? How have you liked it, compared to the stock guitar? Thanks!

I put a Bigsby on my Elitist Casino a year or so ago. If it did make it heavier, it's not noticeable. Some will also say that the sustain is improved slightly, although I think that's a bit subjective. If nothing else though, it looks good:

I added an Epi Vibratone Bigsby to my Casino and love it. The additional weight is only slightly noticeable, and it's added sustain and some high-end sparkle to the tone.

I have a Bigsby on my Epiphone ES345 and the guitar is noticeably heavier than my Gibson ES345 but that isn't all the Bigsby's fault.

But having said that both are lightweights compared to my ridiculously heavy Les Paul 25 / 50.

I am not much of a Bigsby user but if you are then I say go ahead and do it!

I have both Casinos with and without.

Not much difference in weight.

The Bigsby does add more of a solid body tone to a Casino in the same guitars compared side by side. (both Lennon Casinos set one up like Harrion's)

My Bigsby Casino has more punch and sustain...........it is still a Casino but not as woody and warm as the non Bigsby.

Hope that helps.

I own a John Lennon Casino and a natural Casino and have been considering putting a Bigsby on the natural.I tried out a special issue Casino with a Bigsby in my local music store and it wasn`t at all heavy nor did it upset the balance of the guitar.Go ahead and put on the Bigsby, the worst it could do is improve your sustain.
