Min Etune Broken? Help!

Hey everyone! I just got a beautiful Signature T in Vintage Sunburst. I have had it about a week and love it. I finally decided to play around with the Min Etune tonight and everything was great. It was easy to change tunings, it was quick, and it was easy. However, I have no idea how to get the battery out to charge it. I read you are supposed to push it, but you can't push the battery on mine. It seems stuck!

What should I do? I really don't want to send it back to Zzounds, as they would probably send me another model and I really like everything about mine. Should I call Gibson? It should surely be covered in the gold warranty, right?

Ugh, this is frustrating!

Are you far from the ZZSounds store? I'd say take it back and a specialist will be able to show you how to operate the unit, and they'll be able to repair or replace the Min-Etune unit if broken. The part comes away so you don't need to worry about them replacing the entire guitar.

Zzounds is an online site like guitar center or musiciansfriend. .. i think ill go make a drive to an authorized gibson dealer in a few weeks for them to fix

You should contact Gibson. They'll point you to an authorized repair center. That would be the best way to go about it. You don't want to void your warranty.

Good idea, there's one a few hours away but only a half an hour away from my Dad's. I'll head there in a few weeks instead of shipping the guitar. This is pretty annoying, but the Min Etune unit should be an easy fix. It's a good excuse to get the guitar set up too, I suppose!

I had a push/push break on my TP2 a few weeks ago. GAK in Brighton wanted me to send it to them, who would in turn send it on to their repair centre! For a potentiometer I said that this was a bit extreme.

I hate sending a guitar off somewhere; I'm far too protective.

It would probably be as simple as replacing Min Etune. If you don't care for the Min Etune, you could remove it yourself. It's as simple as removing the nuts from the front of the headstock, and Min Etune comes right off. Just a suggestion. You just have to be careful when installing the new tuners.

the battery on my SG is stuck.  does anybody know how to take it out? thanks!

Hi Dennis,

A word to the wise...   this thread started 6 yeas ago.  Many people will see that and not even open it.  (the dreaded Dead Thread Pool)

Just start a new thread stating what your question is in your title, and you may get some answers.

Good luck

/Ray
