wrains72
I have always found the Firebirds interesting, and well...a bit odd. I was was really excited to buy one earlier this year, and although I found it very different to play, still very satisfying none the less. L5Larry
Here's one from 1964. Although I sold it to a European collector many years ago.
doomlund
Hi. First post on the forum. Just bought my first Gibson ever. I've always wanted a Firebird. It's a beautiful guitar and it sounds amazing. That body is almost an amp of its own. EDIT: Oh, and this a 2009 model (the last year they produced them with the banjo tuners, I believe). SteveFord
That looks really nice. For a solid body those guitars can really ring.
doomlund
That looks really nice. For a solid body those guitars can really ring. Totally! I can't really noodle around on it while watching TV like I usually do. It's way too loud!

doomlund
Really nice! I love that finish! Thanks! I considered getting a sunburst, but then this one presented itself as quite a steal for the price. I'm really happy with it!

SteveFord
I got to play an early 60's Firebird (original or what we would call non-reverse) and was surprised at just how thin and fast the neck was. It felt more like a 70s SG neck than today's wide and flat Firebird necks. I was also surprised at how comfortable the guitar was, there were no issues with the upper bout driving me crazy. Nice guitars if a bit overpriced - $3700 and it looked like a dog gnawed on it one fateful day so no sale to me!
RainboGuy
slk: I LOVE the 64....it's got MOJO to spare! Hang on to that guitar.....looks like a keeper to me! I just got a new (2013) Elliot Easton TikiBird Firebird in Gold Poly Mist and LOVE IT! I'll shoot a couple of IPhone photos and see if I can hook 'em up here. Versatile
Great guitars with character and style... Thankfully quite rare so cause a stir when seen/heard Probably Brian Jones/Johnny Winter/Stephen Stills/Phil Manzanera/Steve Winwood got me 'fired up' to get one.... Currently have a banjo Firebird V, a non reverse Firebird and a Tokai single bridge SD Firebird V

Thanks Steve, the guy I got it from wanted it back 2 weeks later. He was ok though, he still has a nice Firebird V. I heard they're not made anymore but probably not to hard to find a used one.
