Its a funny thing with me and Faith No More.. I was never like a mega fan if theirs when they were at their peak.. I liked them and thought Big Jim was cool :) and I always thought that Mike Patton was pretty unique too... :)

It was only when I went and saw them in the summer that I realised how much I missed their music and have been listening to them quite a bit lately and really enjoy it.. so im looking forward to this [thumbup]

Faith No More have announced their first album in 18 years. Due out in April, the band’s seventh studio LP will also be their first to be released without an outside label.

“Hopefully it doesn’t sound like a bunch of 50-year-old men... which we are!” bassist Bill Gould joked with Rolling Stone. Apparently the record has been in the works for about a year and a half; the quintet began writing together a few years after their initial reformation, during a break from reunion gigs. “We weren’t touring, we have these songs that we were working on – that we think are pretty cool – [so we thought], ‘Why don’t we just do our own imprint and kind of reclaim our future, in a way?’”

To reflect this spirit, Faith No More have named their freshly founded label Reclamation Records. Distributed by Icepac Recordings, which is owned by frontman Mike Patton, Reclamation’s first release is the new album’s lead single Mother****er, out on 28 November.

“I think this [album] kicks things up a notch,” Gould said. “There’s parts that are very powerful and there’s parts that have a lot of ‘space’ ... There’s going to be a lot of space and scope – big, big sound-stage space – but I also think there’s gonna be a lot of those things that we already have. All I can say is what we’re doing just feels right.”

Faith No More’s most recent full-length was 1997’s Album of the Year, which reached No 7 and was issued a gold sales certificate in the UK. The band recently played gigs in London and Poland, and are also due for a tribute by Twinkle Twinkle Rock Star, who have re-recorded 13 Faith No More songs as lullabies. Listen here to the act’s snoozy, glockenspiel take on Falling To Pieces. The rest of Lullaby Versions of Faith No More is available on 16 September.

Thanks for the heads up.

In college my band opened for Imperial Teen (Roddy Bottum's post Faith No More project). Super nice guy. Or maybe he was looking to pick me up (kidding!). Angle Dust was the last album by Faith No More I bought. IMO it is very under recognized as a master piece.

If you dig Mike Patton, you should check out his other bands Fantomas and Tomahawk.

Are they newer post FNM bands? I will check them out cheers...

I was aware of his previous work with Mr Bungle.. Some REAL weird stuff but some good stuff too.. Sometimes he reminds me of a weirder and much heavier Frank Zappa.. not so much in music style but in the experimental approach to music.. not just A+B=C type production.. More like V+I=42 :)

Sort of newer; I think Fantomas and Tomahawk were in the last ten years.

Mr. Bungle's first album had the best songs: Girls of Porn, Squeeze Me Macaroni, etc. That was Patton's singing gig before FNM.
