I don't have any experience with the Casino but want to pursue it. I was surprised at how many different models there's been. I would like to hear from any casino owners about there particular model ie; Matsumoku, elitist, vintage elitist,etc. I'm Jonesing for another guitar. Will have to go down and see if there's a Casino at the local dealers I can play. I really like my Sherri with stock pickups from Korea. I bought a Ibanez Am-93 off e-bay and like it but still getting used to it and the "57" Pups. I've been seriously playing for a year now,learning on my own after a lot of years, and lean toward extended chords with triads while incorperating scales as a metheod to learn the fretboard. Love the Klugh/Benson thing but end up with the blues thing popping up. I think the big thing to look for in a Casino is the feel and sound of it acoustically. Electronics can always be changed. the Elitist and USA Lennon models feel the best to me but they are pricey. I have a lot of guitars. It is my "go to". Fit, finish, quality, sound, Macca was right. Pickups are pretty hot but it seems to make for a large diversity of sounds, quite a range between the both of them with various tone and volume positions. Love this guitar as it looks so amazing on my wall hanger and it makes me wanna play every time I walk past. Mines natural by the way. Many of the greatest rock guitarists have played them...and for a good reason...simply stated, they are suburb guitars...I've been playing this one as of lately. Yeah, I didn't even mean to buy my natural- I was in the store for something else , saw it on a stand behind the counter, asked to hold it, smitten big time. And the awesome sound! With fun!! Actually, I don't seem to have too much of a problem unless I'm up close to and facing my amp. Then again, I'm not playing big amps... IMO the name has moved around a lot recently betwixt variously priced versions... The ES 330...made in US...is possibly closer to a 60's US Casino A MIC Casino has great VFM A Peerless Songbird is a very competent copy... So, if you are "Jonesing" for something, means you want a guitar like, or better than your neighbors, the "Jones's"...dig it. I guess you could say I need a fix(whatever it is I'm addicted to) ie; epi semiholow. Talking about PUPs I'm inexperienced but know my Korean Sherri,they seem fine and darker than the Ibanez AM-93 "57" pickups that came with that guitar.So will have to play a couple of Casinos to see what the 90s sound like. Brighter doesn't sound like it interests me but not sure. So many variables. I'm playing through a Kustom solid state with a 12" celestion. Gonna list my Yamahas on Craigs so it might take awhile to scrape some dough,but would like more feedback. Looks like the reissue Casino is the starter and the Lennons work up to the elitist.
