slk
Anyone ever play or have one of the Gibson RD Standards????? There is one for sale by me and was wondering if they were decent guitars. Steve
SteveFord
I played one back in the late 70s (early 80s?) when they had just come out and it didn't do it for me at all. It certainly didn't feel like your regular old SG or Les Paul but go give it a try and see what you think.
thejay
Which one - original or the one from a few years ago? I have one of the reissue standards, great guitar. It's like a big les paul...
slk
The one from back in the 77. Tobacco sunburst finish. Says it is in excellent shape. The guy is asking $1300.00. Never played one, and don't even know if they are worth that or not.

slk
So what is the deal with the circuitry in them (moog) what is the difference. I have never seen one of these in person. I have heard some of them on you tube videos, but they are usually heavy metal, and it is hard to tell the tonal quality of them. Pretty cool looking guitars though.. btoth76
1300 sounds pretty good actually +1. However, examine the condition of the circuitry very carefully. It's not an average Gibson with passive guts. Good luck! Bence
