grogansocialscene
Hi, I am back home over the holidays and pulled my SST (http://www.guitar.com.au/guitars/electric/gibson/SST.html) out of its case and noticed the gold plated piece on the body that covers the Volume/Treble/Bass controls is somewhat rusted/corroded. I went by Sam Ash, and the best they could recommend was this "Music Nomad Acid Free Cymbal Cleaner." (http://www.musicnomadcare.com/cymbalcleaner.html) My only concern is that is is for bronze cymbals. Is it safe to use? Does anyone have recommendations for cleaning the hardware? Thanks! -thg
retrorod
I have used Flitz and currently use MAAS fine cream metal polish. Both products do a fine job. A little goes a long way. These can be found in most hardware and auto parts stores. I have never tried the cymbal cleaner...

codyyy
I used Flitz polish at work, it works real well and it is not abrasive at all that I could tell. You'll want to use something not abrasive, almost like a syrup consistency. I have the same guitar and my plate is in the same condition, a bit oxidized. I haven't gotten around to polishing it. nesterdron
Hey guys Can anybody recommend what works best with regards to cleaning your exhaust pipe, something that can make it shine and take off all the marks

Otherwise, get a can of Never Dull.... Use a wad of that on your exhaust pipe and even shine the balls on your brass monkey....
