luckybuddha
Hi! I bought a gibson les paul studio about 4 years ago.. it was used and i payed 500 dollars for it. I tried the guitar first and it sounded (and still does) really really good. Still, I wanted to know if it was a real gibson but i'm not an expert so I wrote to gibson customer service but i didn't get an answer, and then i forgot about it. Since i don't have the guitar with me at the moment it wasn't on my mind lately, but today I saw a picture of me with the guitar and I noticed that the dot in the "i" of the logo it's linked to the G, and I had NEVER noticed that before. And now i'm worried that I bought a fake gibson :/ Here are some pictures, I know the quality it's not good but as I said I don't have the guitar with me. Additional information: The serial number that appears on the back of the headstock is this one: 001660345 Also on the back of the headstock you can find a sing that reads: "Made in USA". the gibson owner's manual that came with the guitar says "309 Plus Park Boulevard Nashville, TN 37217 USA" and inside the manual you can read "2005 Gibson Guitar Corp." thank you so much! btoth76
Hello and welcome to the Forums. No, it's not a fake. For some model years they didn't put a dot over letter "i" at all. Then, for a period they linked it with the letter "G", as on Yours. Enjoy it with good health! Best wishes... Bence
