Bodaggit
Hello! I've been playing Epiphones for about 20 years now, and finally had the guts and money to pull the trigger on a used 2008 Les Paul Classic. I was hoping you could put my mind at ease, as I can't help wondering if this thing is authentic. Thank you so much in advance. As you'll see in the attached pictures the serial number is 082801 and it has a "made in USA 2008" stamp on the back of the headstock. It seems to have all the telltale signs of a legitimate Les Paul (three-piece headstock, binding over the edges of the frets, wiring seems correct, etc.), but this thing as light as heck. Now, I've never played a Gibson before this one, but this thing weighs in at about 7.4 pounds. Significantly lighter than my Epiphone Les Paul standard from 1992. Whatcha think?
