2bornot2bop
Hi, I'm trying to locate a Gibson BJB floating pickup as a replacement for one I have requiring repair. I've looked everywhere and yet I've not found a BJB. Does anyone know where to find a BJB floater for an archtop guitar? Thanks in advance! 2b
L5Larry
These are what the boutique and custom builders are using: http://www.wdmusic.com/kent_armstrong_jazz_guitar_pickups.html I've used both these and "Benedetto" (by Duncan) pickups on various projects. jdgm
Excuse me if I second that. I don't know if you would find a Gibson BJB but Kent Armstrong pickups are some of the best IMO. I have two. I think one of them is the best-sounding pickup I have.

L5Larry
I'm not a fan of the KA. So you ARE a fan of outdated technology, inferior materials, and antiquated manufacturing techniques!
Chris Blaze
Call Gary Brawer of Real Guitars in San Francisco: (415) 621-3904 Real Guitars has one of the most impressive collections of rare vintage guitars that I've ever seen. If he doesn't personally have one on hand, he could probably point you in the right direction of where to grab one! Good luck! I understand how frustrating it is to pinpoint particular pieces of gear.
2bornot2bop
So you ARE a fan of outdated technology, inferior materials, and antiquated manufacturing techniques! It's tone I'm after. The synergy between this archtop and pickup is perfect as it is. I'd not desire to throw something new into the mix. Besides, sound, tone are so subjective. Each individual has their own tastes. I realise this thread is old but i just wanted to mention that KA has mass produced pups and handwounds. I can only assume that they are worlds apart.
