MorrisrownSal
The Blue Yeti experiment is over... I like my Apogee MiC better... Anyway here is my version of Aimee Mann's Save Me... Guitar (Gibson SJTV) and vocal track, a second vocal track, cajon, bass.... duluthdan
Nice recording. I too can hear the clarity wrought by those new tuners. - Which, by the way, look flipping fabulous. I'm still wildly impressed with you folks that have figured out the recording thing. I am having trouble using a metronome.

I have tried audacity, and some other computer programs. The only reason I can record and try to do one every two weeks, is the iPad mini and garageband, combined with the Apogee MiC makes is so damn easy. If you were in the room and see how basic the actual tasks I do are, you would run out and get those two products.

Red 333
One of my favorite tunes, and one I play all the time. Great job on it, and very nice sounding recording. The SJ sounds particularly fine. Red
Red 333
I liked "Two" and "Shame On The Moon" a lot, too! Both suit your voice very well. Nice solo in SOTM. I really like the "Sal From Chatham" channel. Keep adding to it! Red
MorrisrownSal
Phil... that's me laying down a harmony track... and Red - Thanks. You are the one that turned me on to Mann. That's the great thing about this place.
j45nick
I'm not familiar with the original version, but I really like this one. Thanks, Sal.
Rambler
The Blue Yeti experiment is over... I like my Apogee MiC better...https://soundcloud.com/sal-from-chatham/save-me Good news re apogee but disappointing re Blue. Anyone out there have a good experience (or any kind of experience?) recording with a budget mic, for those of use who cant afford $150-200 just to mess around. aerohead
Who is the original done by? I have never heard this song before but I like it. My favorite is Monkey Man though and still listen to it!
Red 333
The original was written by Aimee Mann. It's included on the soundtrack of the movie "Magnolia" (which itself was inspired by Mann's music), and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1999. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbFQa4SeY48 Red

nid2007
Really nice job! I enjoy playing that song myself--wish I could sing the song as well, but it is way too difficult for me. Bravo!
