ES335 memphis but serial says Nashville ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Sorry if it is a stupid question, I'm new to gibson universe.

I just bought a 2012 ES335 DOT and I was trying to check serial and model numbers.

The sticker inside the guitar says Gibson Memphis, but serial 12072726 says it comes from Nashville factory.

Is that an error ?

If it helps, the model No is ESDTVSNH1.

Thanks

Sylvain

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on your new 335! This would have been made in Memphis. After the Memphis plant opened, the Nashville numbers went from 300-699 and Memphis numbers begin at 700.

I had the same question about my ES335. Gibson Customer Service confirmed that body label is the correct identifier.

Why would this even be a question?

I know everyone wants their guitars to have been made in Nashville (just like we wanted our mid/late 70's guitars to have been made in Kalamazoo), but a factory applied label saying "Gibson Memphis" is pretty darn clear!
