NGD! Fender Highway One Stratocaster

I picked this up for a very good price in a friend's local music store on Wednesday. She's a 2002 Highway One Strat in mocha brown. The body is really well worn and looks fantastic. I don't know what it is but I love a well worn Strat. All of my other Guitars are pristine but my two Strats look like beaters. This one plays and sounds beautiful.

I can one up that, I haven't owned a single guitar in my life, I didn't rip the pickips out of... Just sayin.

I feel ya. I have one though - SG Faded Special with 490R and 490T. The only guitar in which I have kept the stock pickups.

I cant tell you how many times I tried... on every Les Paul and Strat I ever bought. I think the hardest was the Signature T I REALLY wanted to keep the 57 Classics in there. But finally went Duncan Hot Rodded set. My 2014 Classic still has stock pickups but... I changed magnet in 57 classic to Alnico 5 and Searcy rewound bridge to JB specs.

Strats I been pulling them and using Duncan Texas Hot Antiquities, they sound amazing all Hendrix Blackmore SRV.

Yeah, you like 'em hot. I get most of my gain from the floor and need a good country clean now and again.

I like the ones that are replicas of real 55 and 66 strats they did a 76 that was sweet too. I also like the Les Pauls that are vintage 1960 replicas right down to aging them. That is cool because I rather pay $6000 for one have a replica than $50,000 for the real thing. I cant budget either right now but if I could it would be a replica before the real thing.

I agree Donny but if I buy a new guitar I want a new looking guitar not a aged one (that's just me)

Hey Pup,

How you like that 490R/490T combo in your SG? I kept that in one of my LP's and it's great. Real earthy/bluesey tones. Real easy to bend out of shape with the chain if need be too.
