Hello everyone!

Just wondering what is your most played or main guitar. I have a lot and they all have very unique personalities but one that I always seem to favor is my Ebony Sherry 2.

Man, those are some great looking Epiphone Sheraton electric guitars...imho.

I've been strumming this one, the most, since the day I first obtained it. Yes, my collection will continue to "change", most likely. I do believe I will "part" with several of the instruments I presently own, during the course of the years 2015/16, maybe. I do have 4 or 5 guitars I really prefer over some of the others (my babies). But, I want to give some other person(s) the opportunity, and pleasure, to enjoy those particular ones, as I have myself, also. I will, most likely, "Ebay" several from my collection, after the cold weather has passed for this season. I want to continue to build my collection of sound effect pedals. It seems to me that various electric guitars, without any added "effects" basically sound quite similar. Whereas, myriad sound effect pedal units continue to be developed by a "base" of manufactures, both "custom built" as well as "generic" . It seems to me that more sound effect pedals are being developed, just about every day. Stratocasters sound like Stratocasters, Telecasters like Telecasters. "Electro-Spanish" (ES) models like ES models. Hollow, semi hollow and hollow body guitars all sound, to me, basically similar, even with the several types of electric "pick-ups"....as so on and so forth. I mean, how many different sounds can you get from a "plain old" electric guitar and amp ?...That is, imho, why these sound effect units continue to be developed. Having tried, literally, 100's of guitars, as well as sold/traded and parted with probably just as many...and finding most "similar" guitars from the same and varying manufactures to sound quite similar without any additional "effects", I do believe I will stick with the "tried and true" models. Yes, I do like to have several of the same type and model of guitar, in varying colors (look at how many Stratocaster and Les Paul style electric guitars have been made, millions...and I would wager that 90% of them all sound basically quite similar without anything like "effects" added to them), but, the color/scratch plate variations/string variations...what ever... of the various models does not change the way they basically sound "across the board". Whereas, the variability of the "millions" of electric guitar sound effect pedals adds a different "feature" and "depth" to the (possibly) 5 or 6 electric guitars (or 10 or 12 ...lol) that I will probably/definitely end up keeping, probably until my last breath. I do believe this will be one of "those" ones. Also, out of curiosity...others have stated, without any doubts, that Epiphone/Squier...and other manufacture's "second tier" (electric) guitars "do not hold their value". I guess, and it is only a guess, that this may be (somewhat) true. If I do put a few of my instruments up "for auction",..again, I guess I'll find out (maybe the "hard way".msp_unsure.gif )And, If I'm not happy with the result...I actually don't have to part with them. I guess, like many other things in this life, time will tell. So, in time, I will part with some of my guitars, in time. But, in "parting" I do intend to take those "funds" and research more "sound effects", which, up to this point, I have had quite a bit of fun with, experimenting with various "pedal boards". Arranging, and re-arranging the "chain", as how these units are rigged up. Really great fun...Isn't that what owning an electric guitar, as well as life, is all about ? Having fun, with electric guitars. At this time frame, in my life, I'm finding, and have actually found, that I enjoy it, quite a lot actually...imho...OK, enough saidmsp_blushing.gifeusa_listen.gif Here she is...rock on. msp_thumbup.gifmsp_biggrin.gif

Also, even though there are 1000's of electric guitar sound effect manufactures, if Epiphone/Gibson were to start making a bunch (of truly unique and "odd ones" that haven't already been developed) , I'd most likely obtain a "bunch" from them too. msp_thumbup.gifeusa_pray.gifeusa_dance.gif

I use my Martin Dreadnought almost everyday...it's what I use for songwriting along with my Yamaha keyboard.

Electric is my old warhorse 79 Gibson SG....gets action a few times a day.

I only have two Epis an LP pro top plus and a EJ Sheraton which maybe get picked up once or twice a week.

My Ric 360/12 gets a lot of play...if it didn't take so long to tune it would probably get more play..:-)

The Ric is going for a string change/ neck adjustment in March at Pic of the Ricks in Lindenwold NJ.

I'm with Sleeko --- the Elitist Broadway is my most-played guitar:

If I need a brighter tone for funk or reggae rhythm playing, it's my Gretsch 5420T:

If I need the sustain and drive of a hot-buckered solidbody (or the extra high notes on a 24-fret neck), it's my Dillion DR-500TI:

Beautiful guitar! One of these days I'm gonna own a Broadway!

Thanks man, you'll love it. The Byrdland's nothing to sneeze at either.

If electric, my go to is my Elitist Casino, followed in no particular order by my Dot, Wildkat, and Gibby LP

If acoustic, it used to be my Ovation Elitist 1778 LX, but lately I've been digging my Masterbilt AJ500M (honeymoon phase).

Well, my 1982 Ric "1964" 360-12 Reissue, is always played! But, my 6 string "go to" guitar varies!

But, probably my Telecaster, or my 61 SG, are the most often used. Still, I try to rotate the use

of all my guitars, as much as possible.

I only have 2 Epiphone's these days. My AIUSA Sheraton, and my Vintage '66 Casino. They figure,

prominently, in the rotation, as well.

My Clapton Signature Strat. Every time I play it I wonder why I have 9 other guitars. Then I remember that I am a guitar addict with no cure in sight. The neck on the Clapton fits my hand like a glove. Bending is like moving a hot knife through butter. It is the most versatile-sounding guitar in my collection as well.

go to guitar? depends but i can say this anything that does NOT say gibson or fender on the headstock, and currently after realising the epiphones dont get teh same kinda love in the support dept especially 90 to 99 era instruments i may end up avoiding epiphone to, which is a shame because epiphones are actually high quality ( higher quality than the overpriced "gibson" counterparts in my honest opinion). what i say to manufacturers is this f me once piss on you f me twice? never! i show my displeasure by not spending my cash with the offending company/companies and if gibson dont start showing us epi owners the same love as the people over paying for a name on the headstock then it will be so long epi.
