wjp
HELP!!! I have a three month old EB-3 Bass. I had it stored in a soft sided case, and opened it up to find the two tuning paddles from the two lower tuning machines broken off and loose inside the case. I am trying to figure out how these were originally attached, and if I can simply glue them back on or if I need to replace the whole tuning machine. I have put in a request at the Gibson web site, but have not received any feedback as yet. With these large paddles I can't imagine I'm the first one to have this problem. Any suggestions on repairs, or sites and part numbers for replacements would be greatly appreciated. There does appear to be some keying left on the inside of the paddle, since I can still tune the guitar by holding them in place, but they will not stay on. Looking into the end it looks like there may be a plastic rod connecting the paddle to the rest of the tuner. It has a yellowish look as if it may be a plastic peg rather than metal. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wayne
neepheid
A picture or two might help us identify what's gone wrong, if/how it can be fixed and if no, what tuners could serve as replacements.
Kelvinator
I think that Epiphone uses Grover tuners, so it should be easy to find replacements. Soft cases don't offer much protection; be thankful the headstock wasn't broken!
old mark
Look to Stew-Mac for replacement tuners, and find a hard case that fits your bass. I would never recommend a bag for anything you want to keep, and Iearned that the hard way, same as you did... http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Parts/Tuning_Machines/Bass/
