matonanjin
Are there any members on here that are experts on Gibson serial numbers? I went to the page on Gibson.com to try and figure out information from a serial number and am now very close to shooting myself. I'm sure this has been asked many times but I can't figure it out. The serial number is 90979581. It is an ebony Little Lucille at a local pawn shop. If I can get the age and any other pertinent information I want to try and figure out if what they are asking seems fair. Actually the price they have on it seems cheap. But I find it difficult to believe a pawn shop wouldn't know its value.
dReit1
I'm not an expert on the subject but I think #90979581 was made in 1999 8 digit number : ydddynnn yy (1st. & 5th. digit)= year of manufacture dd. (digits 2-4)= day of year nnn (digits 6-8)=daily # rank Hope that helps. PS. Little Lucys are a great score $1000.00-1400.00 depending on condition. matonanjin
Thanks, dReit1. It is in like new shape; not a mark on it. Literally, it looks brand new. He is asking $1300 for it so I guess it is no great deal. I am probably going to go play it tomorrow. I don't know if I am going to move forward with it or not. Unfortunately, when I play it I may fall in love and all reason will go out the window Thanks again.
