Hi Everyone! Well, I got introduced to Gibson just a few scant months ago via my purchase of a 2009 Les Paul Studio Faded in Cherry. WOW! I'll spare the accolades here as I gushed all over the Les Paul section already [tongue]

I checked out some other models but decided that my next purchase, which good Lord willin' occurs tomorrow, is a 2008 Gibson SG Special Ltd Ed. in Blue Mist. I'm buying it used (stating the obvious...) in excellent condition. It seems to have everything I want- 490R/490T pups, 50s shape neck, EBONY board (my all-time favorite fretboard)and a TKL Hard Case. I believe Gibson made 'em for Guitar Center for a period during 2008. It looks gorgeous and I can't wait to play her. (Being sent from N.Y.)

Unusual features are there are only board markers at the 7th and 12th frets. I'd love to, at a later date, have a pro install some unique but not over-stated markers. The guitar has all the side markers.

I still haven't posted pics of the Studio- so when she comes in I'll post pics of both. I'm not very good at taking pics, posting them on photobucket, posting them on a forum...etc. But I'll do my best to get off my butt and post some!

Thanks for letting me "exuberate"!

Hi Silvercrow, congrats with you recent purchases.

Don't worry about gushing over your guitars, I did the same when I got my Gibson SG 60s tribute, it was a suprise Christmas present from my parents. I'm 40 years old but I must have come across on the forum as a very excited 10 year old [blush] .

I had trouble too when I first started/tried to use photobucket, got the hang of it now.

Looking forward to photos of the SG, the Blue Mist is a rather tasty finish (getting gas now).

Welcome to the SG club :)

Excellent choice Brian. Can't wait to see the pics mate. [thumbup]

Thanks you guys! Yeah...at 58 years old I often act like a kid when it comes to guitars, playing...anything that has to do with guitars! I've literally been that way since I was 6 years old! Mom and I watched a man and woman perform on TV (research leads me to believe it was none other than Les Paul and Mary Ford...) and I was HOOKED!

So the M/O went out today- I'm told *MY* SG will be shipping Monday. Meanwhile I'mm having a ball checking out the "SG" players videos thread...LOVE that Santana vid from Woodstock (SG-P90s!) and one of my all time favorite guitarists-Frank Marino!

Hurry UPS Guy!

GUSHING (irrational, or otherwise) about our guitar purchases is NORMAL, regardless of age!

At least, around here! I've gushed about all the guitar's I've purchased, since becoming

a forum member, and proudly displayed all the one's I've owned even prior to that! We all

love doing that, judging by what I've seen, here. And, our various ages, don't seem to

diminish that "giddy" feeling a new, or new to us, guitar brings. The last guitar purchase

I've made, was about 18 months ago. After a 40 year hiatus, on owning an SG...I (within 10

months) bought 4! [scared][biggrin] I'm still in GAS "Rehab!" But, I have NO regrets, about

any of those SG's, nor any of my other guitar purchases, for that matter!

So, just remember Brian..."Photos, or IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!" [biggrin]

Welcome, to the "Insane Asylum," and we'll all look forward to your upcoming "Guitar Porn!" [thumbup]
