LarryUK
Yes. Doesn't seem a lot for what it is. The problem is that it's pig ugly. Which is most likely the reason.
btoth76
Hello! Yes, it's ugly. Consider this: it was tinkered on a daily basis by Mr. Paul. He used a screwdriver to route out pickup cavities. Cheers... Bence

kidblast
not as sad as this The auction record for a guitar belongs to the Fender Stratocaster that Bob Dylan played at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. It sold for $965,000 in 2013.

kidblast
I thought Clapton's "Blackie" went for more. just coz it's on the innernet, don't mean it's true! but, now that you mention it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackie_%28guitar%29 this - so according to this Blackie was just a tad under Dylan's. In 2004, Blackie was sold for US$959,500 at a Christie's auction to support the Crossroads Centre, a drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation centre founded by Clapton. The auction's winner was the music equipment chain Guitar Center, and the bid set the record for the world's most expensive guitar. In 2006, another Stratocaster—signed by a large group of celebrities, including Clapton—was auctioned to benefit the victims of the 2004 Asian tsunami, selling for $US2.8 million, surpassing Blackie's record. Drog
The guitar was bought by Jim Irsay, who also owns the NFL Indianapolis Colts. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2015/02/19/colts-owner-jim-irsay-spends-335500-to-buy-controversial-les-paul-guitar/
ErickC
Unless it's been refretted, I'd say they overpaid for a guitar that was barely playable when it was new and is probably worse now. If it has been refretted, then they overpaid for a playable guitar. Fool and his money and all that.
