djlee8807
Hi everyone, What are the differences between a 1957 Les Paul Custom 2 Pickup VOS and a 20th Anniversary 1957 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty? 1957 Les Paul Custom 2 Pickup VOS http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/1957-Les-Paul-Custom-2-PU-VOS/Features.aspx 1957 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty http://www2.gibson.com/products/electric-guitars/les-paul/gibson-custom/20th-anniversary-1957-les-paul-custom-black-beauty.aspx Also, how would the above two guitars compare to a production line Gibson Les Paul Custom (with richlite)? jdgm
Good question. I know no more than you but looking at the specs in those links the 20th Anniv Black Beauty has special pups, is a limited edition plus you get more 'case candy' including a pair of white gloves.....! Compared to a production line Custom with Richlite board - I think the 50s necks would be significantly fatter for a start.
btoth76
Hello! I guess, it's not necessary to worry about the 20th anniversary reissues. They were super limited, if I remember correctly. It has a special, embossed switch cavity cover, the rest should be the same as on a regular R7. Yes, the all-important pair of white gloves... Just wondering: Did the Buckethead Les Pauls came with rubber gloves? Cheers... Bence
btoth76
Meanwhile I've found out... The anniversary model has AlNiCo III Custombucker pickups ("Livebucker" for the aftermarket). The regular R7 has AlNiCo II pickups with unmatched windings: Burstbuckers. Cheers... Bence
