Hello all .. Am writing this after 2 years of trying to play with my Ultra3 without any fret buzzing .. if you have fret buzz with your Ultra 3 complete reading then share if not then share it to help others.

First I didnt do any fret work or leveling.

below is my guitar setup with numbers.

Action hight from the 12 fret : 2.89mm from Bass side 2.00mm from Triple side

Truss Rods hight from the 7th fret : about 2.80mm bass side 1.9mm Triple side

Bridge Hight : 6.00mm from bass side 5.4mm from Triple side

String: Gibson Vintage 10

Now the Secret of solving the fret buzzing which i guess it is a factory defection in some of ultra 3

Just raise the Stop Tailpiece till you cant hear any buzz in the fret 12 13 14 15 on all the strings My

TailPiece hight is 5.00mm in both side

Good luck Epiphoners and enjoy :)

I have the ace frehely les paul and it has the same neck as the ultra 3

and i have the same buzzing problem. I think its all the epi's with that

neck. I love the neck to play but the buzzing makes me nuts. I haven't

brought it in for a real professional set up yet. only that hack

at the music store. rasing the tail piece does that make your action high

and how about intonation? buy the way I love the ultra 3'S but the

complaints turnd me away so I bought the ace model and love it.

cheers Bongo

Dear raising the tailpiece will not gona effect your action or intonation at all it just gone make less tension on the bridge which will effect the vibration of the string which gona cost some buzzing if there are high tensionon on the bridge.

First try to send your guitar for pro to make full setup.. He will guide you better .. But if you welling to do fret job .. Try to raise the tail piece first and check ..

Also if the scrows of the bridge are lose also that gona cost you some buzzing and de-tuning . My fix for that without replacing the bridge just take the bridge out and the carig scrows then bring naylon teflon tape and put some on the scrows that gone help you to keep the bridge stable ..

Good luck
