ArNO7
Hi guys, I'm coming to you because I've bought a Gibson The Paul from 1984 two years ago but I don't find which exact model it is.... Most of gibson The Paul have two black hbs, switch on top of the pots, no pickguard. But mine has hole for pickguard, a zebra hb in bridge and the switch is on the side.... I just found one exact same guitar on the net but they don't give more infos..... (http://www.vintage-guitar.de/detailsvintage_1886_Gibson-The-Paul.html) I'm pretty sure my gibson is a deluxe one but if you have more infos for me, and someone can confirm me the exact model of my The Paul, it would be so great Here are some pics of mine Thanks for everything... have a nice day!! Arnaud ps: sorry for my english, i'm a native french speaker :)
retrorod
I have never seen the serial # on the peghead like that. Was the guitar painted aftermarket? The Pauls were natural Mahogany/walnut color in '78....?? if it is an '84 it would have to be a The Paul Deluxe.(1980-1986)....available in wine red or ebony in 1985. The Paul Standard was discontinued in 1982. Is Made in USA stamped under the serial#...? I don't understand why the finish under the ser.# is a different color?? strange! DynoByte
I think it's painted as well. Firebrand model ebony board and should have T-top pickups. It's for sure not vintage.
