Six string play Posted June 3, 2015 Share Posted June 3, 2015 Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my Les Paul Studio has a date of 2013 stamped on it made in the U.S. but when I punch in the serial number at one of the tracking sites it says it was made in Nashville in 2012..any info would be greatly appreciated thanks... btoth76 Posted June 4, 2015 Share Posted June 4, 2015 Hello and welcome to the Forums! This is due to new model year guitars are introduced before the turn of the calendar year. I have a 2007 Les Paul Standard it has all the stamps on the head stock made in the U.S.A. I type the serial number in to find out where it was made it says Nashville Tennessee to me that's proof enough but slot of people are saying its a fake is that possible? If so how do I tell? Thanks. btoth76 Posted June 7, 2015 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Hello! If You have the slightest doubt, post high-resolution pictures here. Preferably, shots of the headstock (back/front), and top. Unfortunately, counterfeiters use real serial numbers, so that's not enough for authentification. But, there are lots of typical mistakes they make. Cheers...
