YES that is a GIBSON LPJ 490R Pickup Here is a thread from MyLesPaulForum where I saw about them last week.. Ancient Gibson Secret... Huh? Zentar
It can be very tough to ID Gibson humbuckers. I have a pair I think are 490R/498T because I read that online when I bought my Studio LP in 2009 but they are both unmarked pickups. I am not 100% sure they aren't Burst Buckers. There was some erroneous info placed online and disseminated to dealerships in 2009 which cast doubt on what they are. There is no way to be sure if they are 490/498 or BBs. Completely unmarked. I have no idea how to tell a chrome cased BB from chrome cased 490s.
HEADKNOCKER
One way to maybe narrow it down would be to measure the ohms reading of the pickup while installed right from the end of a guitar chord with a meter That won't tell you for sure but might point you in the right direction..
