Bernie69
hi guys, once again I need your help what pedal would you recommend for my ES359 with classic 57s I have a solid state Laney 65W amp with an analog reverb, I'm in search of a crunchy sound suitable for blues; and I'm a bit lost between all the available overdrive/saturation boxes what do I need and what model do you recommend used or new at a reasonable price ??? jdgm
Yes there are hundreds or even thousands.... Try the obvious ones 1st. 3 I can think of straight away. Ibanez Tube Screamer (many other pedals are based on this anyway) Boss Blues Driver (mods available for this for better sound) Marshall Bluesbreaker I don't have any of those but I do have a Visual Sound Route 66 which is similar. And a couple of others too...... These are overdrive rather than distortion pedals so the distortion is milder. It is one of those things you never get to the end of, by the way! The Tube Screamer and Blues Driver are both great pedals, and can be found used pretty cheap.
Versatile
One route to fulfilment could be the Boss ME70 or similar.... Gives the option of dialling in 5 or 6 quality Boss OD's... Personal preference is amp crunch via the 'gain' knob And/or clean boost from the pedal V

brantobrien
I'm really not a big pedal guy, but the above recommendations are all fantastic and well received. Personally though I've always liked Chandler. They have a great pedal Chandler Germanium that is so sweet, but rather pricey. Just another opinion for you to think about. merciful-evans
I did a write-up on the Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor in the reviews area. Its not a cheap unit, but it has a tube at its heart.
Mnc
I've used a, Ibanez Tube Screamer with my LP., now using a Fulltone OCD overdrive with my 339 and it is really outstanding. Nice, easy crunch, smooth, long, sustain, or right up to metal distortion. Give one a try.
RevDavidLee
There are just too many in this genre to whittle it down to a few. Anything we recommend may not suit your ears or your style of playing. Your going to have to just try some out like the rest of us.

MojoMike
I'm new to the classic 57's but I'm having a ball with them and my Wampler Paisley. You can get a lot of different sounds with it. Cheers
