old guy
I ran across this V, this clown was selling it as a Gibson on an auction site, and the high bid was like $568.00. the headstock has a crappy little logo that says "New Gibson Electric" then in script it says Sorina. I have been playing a really, really long time, and i have never seen one of these, or have i ever seen a Gibson logo says "New Gibson Electric". I do know that back in the 70' or 80's there were a bunch of Sorina fender knock offs. So, i just wanted to see if anyone knew if Gibson has anything to do with this piece of junk.oh, and don't bother trying to find answers on the internet, i have been down that road and there is no info on these, just a lot of other people looking for info. kidblast
never seen anything like that, it looks very much "not authentic Gibson" to me... Bolt on neck??? hmmm,,
btoth76
Such a poor attempt. A 6 year old can make a better V. Not so complicated. :D Cheers... Bence
old guy
you guys confirmed what I already knew, Thank you. I just was not sure if this was like a precursor to a maestro or something like that. I could not find any info on these any place, and some poor unsuspecting beginner is going to pay this clown their hard earned money for this thing. i did report the post on the auction sight. Jon S.
This is indeed not a Gibson brand or made guitar!
old guy
thanks for your input, I did not think it was, because i have played no other brand but Gibson for 37 years. I just wanted to make sure it was not an early subsidiary company like today's maestro, or some other low budget guitar that was endorsed by Gibson, before i reported the guy. After I pointed out everything that was wrong with it, which was like 20 things, that i could tell just by the photos, he finally relented and took it down and re-listed it as a Sorina, which it what it is. They did a lot of Telecasters and Strats back in the 70's and put the same crappy "New Gibson Electric" logo on them. Info on them is really hard to find, and everyone asked the same thing, "Who made this" This is indeed not a Gibson brand or made guitar!
