DTGREGG
Hey all. I bought the 2014 SGJ and thought it was missing some SG style. So I added a pickguard and 57 classics. Now I'm just wondering how to get the pickup covers aged. Any suggestions? Thanks.
sparquelito
Remove them, place them on top of an old cardboard box, and spray them with oven cleaner. Let it stay on there for 20 minutes or so, and then rinse them off really well. The acids in the oven cleaner will age them beautifully. I WOULD advise waxing them down afterwards with a good paste wax, to keep them from rusting.
jaygl
You can buy nickle covers instead of chrome. Or try some steelwool or light grit sandpaper. Unoficial forum rules are pics or it didn't happen, so, lets see that new SG!!!

jaygl
57 classics in my SG as well.... Certainly can't go wrong with them in an SG...not as high gain, but a little more "punchy" than the 490 set IMO.
