The serial number system was really a mess during that time period. The Made in USA started in 1970 for 6 digit s/n's If you follow the link above the n download/open the http://www.gibson.com/Files/downloads/bluebook/GibsonSERIALNUMBERS.pdf , you'll see that the '68 s/n's are all over the place but not in your 99nnnn range Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
