Epituner
Hi, my first post! I have a couple of Pat. no. 2,737,842 Gibson pickups. They were rescued from an old and badly damaged 355, dated maybe from early 70s . The patent number is stamped into metal, not sticker, with "T TOP" grabbed in black bobbins top and additional inscriptions in tiny letters aside. The multimeter read an impedance of 7.84 kΩ. There are wood spacers between the bottom of the bobbins and the frame. I know those are not PAF, but I want to install and test it on a Gibson Les Paul I'm restoring for my son. Please let me know your opinions in tone, timbre and vintage qualities of this pups, if any. I want to know if it's worth the effort. Thanks. All images here: MY TOP-T PICKUP PICS GALLERY Best. CEA. cjsinla
That's what type of regular Humbuckers Gibson was putting in LPs in the 70'w afaik. My late 79's T-tops sound a bit like 57 Classics, they are in a Flying V. Should be fine for classic rock.
