skilsaw
Like the topic says, I hate to practice... But I really like the idea of showing off at an open mike. I'm a conservative guy. Accountant, short hair, no tatoos. Would it be oK if I put on a long hair wig, got inked with felt pens instead of real tatoos, Put on my ratiest jeans and tore my t-shirt, Now here's the good part. Crank up the distortion and wail on my Squier. If it is late enough in the evening and everybody is already drunk, do you think they would notice? If you think this is TROLLING, you should see the big fish I intend to haul in. TROLL me back.
duane v
if you gig and do enough studio work, you only practice on the challenging stuff.

kidblast
I'm a conservative guy. Accountant, short hair, no tatoos. so what you're saying is you look like about 98% of the people that gig regularly, and show up for open mics. It's not about how you look, it's about how you believe in what you're playing. You don't even have to be great, you just have to go for it, and put it out there. Especially at an open mic, it's almost always a very forgiving, welcoming environment where everyone there, whether playing or listening, is usually very supportive. and why do you hate to practice? -- maybe it's just me, but I think this is a bigger problem to solve than short hair and no tatoos.. You'll look too much like me, and I enjoy being an original! Although, I am a conservative in many areas, just not in my looks...shhhhh! I'm.....undercover..... <_< OH...can't wait to see where this will go... :-" Brian
Silvercrow
So let me guess Skilsaw....someone at an open mic pissed you off as [this person], who was intoxicated, got up there and was as obnoxious as possible for his allotted time? Brian
vangoghsear
I hate to practice too...let's form a band! I'll grab my Squier, set my Behringer amp to Bee-in-a-can distortion and...shoot...I don't have a wig. Can I still be in the band?
jaxson50
I come from the school of thought that believes that all playing is a form of practicing

fromnabulax
Funny thing, I hate math and was thinking of cutting my hair short, covering up all my tattoos, putting on a plain shirt, voting for Donald Trump while listening to Fox News and going up to Merril Lynch to pose as an accountant! brundaddy
Why don't you wear the t-shirt with tattoos printed down the nude-colored sleeves? Henry Juskiewics loves wearing em.
