I gather they are producing a four part series and are going to be in the States next week. They have set aside a full day to hang with me.

The documentary is going to be on Donovan.

Nah, They are doing some history documentary and somehow have gotten the notion in their heads that I am some sort of expert.

Am I going to be left hanging in the wind?

I'd say take Hugh Grant back too, but I'm not even sure he lives here?

Sal he may be Alan Lomax, famous folk / blues musicologist and anthologist....although that would make him 100 and he has been dead for 15 years....so maybe not.

And don't forget to sneak in Donovan's name if the opportunity arises. [thumbup]

Just my words - a little Atlantis anecdote would be appropriate, welcome and surely make them hail.

Best of Luck, , ,

and bring that signed Super Session

Lawdy, I never realized the full potential of the internet to reinvent myself.

Sorry to disappoint ya'll. Nothing glamorous nor really even interesting to many. And no, I do not live in a cave guarded by dragons which apparently was the rumor among students back when I decided to give teaching in a college a short lived shot (they were apparently shocked to see me shopping in a grocery store). I have a secret other life which is as a research historian. I have been interviewed by the NY Times, appeared in documentaries (which I don't think anybody ever watched, including me) and cited in books. It all just reeks of respectability which kind of conflicts with my leanings and nature.

At the moment I am up to my neck on a project on radicals in the Midwest during WWI -socialists, anarchists, Wobblies, anti-draft agitators and such. Basically my kind of people. I am producing an exhibition, documentary and will probably end up with a article published. What the BBC is after though is work I did in the past with the National Park Service on the history of school segregation.

I normally try to avoid dealing with the media as I am not real good with the political correct stuff. But as these guys are coming all the way over from London I figured what the heck. And maybe, just maybe they will be so happy with me they will take Piers back with them.

Well Zomby, hats off to you. There are not many people that make their lives go in the directions they choose, and do what they want/need to do. Most of us are victims of circumstance, are characters that get painted into the scene. We don't do the painting. I will watch for the documentary.

Sal......I hear some lyrics there!

I wear Ray Ban aviators and still avoid haircuts and shaving. I have been told that if my children ever rebel against me they will become wealthy, button-down collar shirt wearing stockbrokers or bankers.

I did not choose this. I more or less stumbled into it and had a knack for it.

Well, if you don't live your life then you gotta live someone else's. Good on ya, Kid!
