P90 Question

Priority Four

Recommended Posts

I just aquired my first Epi guitar a 339 P90 Pro. I am super impressed with the quality of the guitar. Like many of those I have read here I did not add "for the price" on the end of that statement. I am new to P90 pickups. I'm an acoustic guy mainly and have played single coil Tele's mostly when I do pick up an electric. The guitar seems to break up pretty quickly just using the pick up volume knobs. That a P90 thing? I like the cruchy tone of the guitar, but have to keep those volume knobs way down to get any cleans. Through a Marshall JVM anyway. I know Marshall is not the first choice for cleans.

IMO P90's are the '3rd way' for electric guitarists.... [biggrin]

I play a lot of acoustic guitar styles and enjoy doing the same on electrics like Strat/Tele and P90 guitars.... [thumbup]

Marshalls can be used with a little adjustment in this context

Fender amps are renowned for accessible cleans for country and other musics

Personal favourite is the Roland JC circuit in Jazz Chorus and Cube amps

IMX P90's respond in their own way to amp settings and can benefit from slight changes to pick attack, EQ settings etc....

Enjoy... [thumbup]
