What is the Best Epiphone guitar, in your opinion?

I would have agreed with you until I bought my Slash Rossa Corsa played the Gibson & Epiphone NO difference whatsoever besides the price tag..... And the Thayer blows my mind, probably because I'm a Duncan guy and it has two JB's and grovers over Kluson. I'd say (just my opinion of course) whoever Gibson is putting in charge of QC now is doing the job....

Oh ya PS: am I the only one who thinks pick guards make Gibsons look - well ugly?

A lot of people like to knock those but I recently had one & loved it..... But gifted it to my stepdad - brownie points pay off. :)

Plus I love that finish on yours, mine was blue burst but hey anything that brings you good times is well worth spending time with!

Thank you! I agree, and i have gotten some weird remarks but hey its all I got and, not because its mine, I think it plays awesome. Its nice acoustically it sounds good when I plug into my little practice amp and sounds even better when I plug into my friends Marshall. I'm just gonna tweak it a bit more and I think I'll be perfect!! I don't really care that it isn't an expensive guitar or that I can't sell it for million I just like how it feels and how it plays. I don't have one, but Lucille's got to be one of the better Epiphones.

This actually blew my mind my Mother (kindest woman on earth no lie) sent me to find a guitar for my stepdad for Christmas - he had indicated he wanted a 335 so I find a red Gibson "Lucille" so thinking the top of the line guitar would be best, I bought it for him, after receiving it I was SHOCKED to hear him complain of the lack of f-holes. I guess some people just can't be pleased....... :(

Seems to be the answer in every post. I'll post my guitar since there are no G-400's here. Sorry my skateboard isn't pictured.

Cant say which is best since I havent played all. But I do love my LP custom classic. Might buy something more tho, maybe a dot or the alpine white custom. But seems all customs are gone at thomann.de now? Not sure why, but guess I'll wait some and see

I love my 2014 Epiphone Dot. Great guitar.

But I think the best bang for the buck right now is the Epiphone ES-335 Pro, which you can get for $349.

That is a HELLUVA deal.

Looks really great! Would be interested to know if it plays as good as my Sheraton 1962 50th anniversary which really changed my opinion on epiphone arch tops cause it plays stunning, like as versatile with thin neck and fast fingerboard as a les paul. If only the made a 335 Pro in Wine Red instead of the new Sheraton 2, I would buy that in an instant.

I'm also really jealous of the deals you get in USA, thats where I got my Sherry 62 for only $719 all-in but lugging it back to the UK on a plane although was straight thanks to the US airlines great policies on guitars as carry-ons, it still was kind of a hassle. I used to have my eye on Thonman.de as it looked like they were becoming comparably in price to musicians friend and American Musical Supply but lately they haven't been getting the new models, e.g. they don't even stock the 335 pro.

My choice is a basic Casino. For $200 extra you can update the basic model to play as well as the Elitist or Lennon model.

Throw in a set of Gibson tuners for $58 and a pair of Gibby P90s for a buck and a half more and you have one of the best electric guitars made by anyone for $800. The Beatles knew this 50 years ago.
