htamezm
Hi everyone, one guy want me to sell this "Gibson" bass and I think it is fake. I have never seen a Gibson bass constructed this way. In specific for the silver neck plate and red head paint with white letters. Please take a look and if possible confirm or rule out the authenticity of this bass. I cant find a serial number anywhere, the owner says "because it was a custome made, doesn't have seriael number, but he already send it to certificated" (¿?) I dont know if this is an authentic gibson that was rare custome made or if its just completely fake. Please tell me what you think.

htamezm
Certified as fake. Heheh Sad, actually sounds good, but not worth that kind of money.
capmaster
To be honest, I wouldn't want to play it publicly, even if I got it for free. I simply dislike fakes. There should something honest be written on the headstock.
Grog
I've seen similar basses being sold on eBay. People that have had them in their family for years don't take kindly to buyers telling them that they have a fake. "My dad bought this and it is a real Gibson!" This guitar is easy to tell that is an imposter, but the Chinese have gotten so good at fakes, you really need to know what you are looking at to not get fooled. If the price is too good to be true, it's likely a fake!
